Today's Romanian press is a relatively young press. The appearance and evolution of newspapers and magazines, their specialization, depended on the steadfastness of social life, the wealth of the population and the individual freedoms of the people. These premises were not fulfilled in the 19th century, as a result of which the literary press suffered. This article presents the evolution of the Romanian literary press in the period between the Iași Revolution of 1848 and the Union of 1859. The titles of the publications that had a significant role in the literary press, the period of publication, the names of the editors and the program are listed. At the same time, an attempt is made to x-ray the factors that contributed to what the press was like at that time.
