| Rezumat | ||||||
The mobilization of the population from the Governorate of Bessarabia, in order to involve it in forced labor, was a phenomenon known during the whole duration of the First World War, since its beginning until the fall of the Tsarist Empire. The operative documents of military units from the front and of the government institutions, official statistics, and regulations confirm the mobilization potential and the main ways of involving forcibly the human resources of the territory. Among others, this phenomenon led to a total disaster for the population of the region between Prut and Dniester. |
