Rezumat

This paper outlines the occurrence of a few fungal genera associated with mycotoxin production – Alternaria, Fusarium, Penicillium, in plants of two local tomato varieties («Cerasus», «Elvira»). Alternaria spp. were identified in most of the vegetative organs of plants of both varieties, while the infection with Fusarium species was significantly lower and absent in tomato fruits. In fruits were identified mycotoxin-producing Penicillium chrysogenum and Alternaria alternata, the highest infection rate stated for 'Cerasus' variety. 'Elvira' plants showed a distinct resistance to Fusarium infestation.
