T he V-th session of the Standing Committee
on Patent Law was held on May 14-19, 2001
in Geneva, headquarters of WIPO. Representatives
from 77 countries, 19 intergovernmental
organizations and 5 non-governmental ones
participated in the said session. Having regard to
the explosive development of science and practice
in every field of human activity, extension of the
list of patentable objects and the prospects of such
development in the near future, the participants in
the session have expressed themselves for the
simplification of the procedure, patentability
requirements, for definitions enabling the future
extension of the list of patentable objects. The
main idea of the treaty was “ unification of the
CBI examination procedure “ in all countries
party to the SPLT, PLT and PCT. |
