Rezumat

The right to an adequate standard of living is one of the fundamental economic rights regulated in a number of international and regional acts. This right is considered fundamental and is included in the states’ Constitutions. At the same time, according to UN data, the number of people living below the national poverty line has increased in 2021, which shows a negative trend in the implementation of the right to an adequate standard of living. One of the indicators of the standard of living is the average and minimum wages in the country. In this study, we analyzed the average and minimum wages in the Republic of Moldova in the context of international wage calculation algorithms. This study highlights the essence of the right, which currently remains little studied. In this research we calculated the minimum wage in the Republic of Moldova based on international standards in this area.
