For in situ analysis of soil quality, soil samples were collected and prepared from eight localities of Republic of Moldova, specialized in the production of vegetables in greenhouses and berries. Soil testing to determine the pH level as well as the total concentration of dissolved salts was carried out by in situ electrometric methods and the NPK level by colorimetric methods. Most soil samples have a basic reaction, while most vegetable and berries crops prefer an acidic soil reaction. In most soil samples it is necessary to adjust concentrations of N and P, although in some of them increased concentrations of N have been recorded. Most samples analyzed have an adequate content of K. For this reason, it is recommended to use acidic reaction fertilizers, as well as to add acid solutions in water for drip irrigation - аnother practice for reducing pH values, especially when preparing the nutrient solutions for fertigation and soil for new vegetable or berries crops plantations. |
