Background. The negative psychological impact is due to the incurable nature of the disease, which continues to be a high mortality worldwide. The diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer cause psycho-emotional stress, both due to the symptoms of the disease and due to the perceptions of the patient and his fam Objective of the study. Research into some early and late postoperative psycho-emotional characteristics of patients with breast cancer. Material and Methods. In the study were enrolled 138 patients with breast cancer who were treated in the Mammology Laboratory of the Oncological Institute in the Republic of Moldova during the years 2017-2020. Applied statistical tests: t-Student, U Mann-Whitney, ANOVA. Results. Of the 138 patients included in the study, in the first 3 days postoperatively, only 63 of them, which is 45,6%, showed self-confidence and were ready to fight for their recovery regardless of diagnosis. More than half (78; 56,5%), however, considered their condition to be an injustice, either punishment or bad luck, while being discouraged and demotivated to actively participate in their recovery. After 14 days postoperatively, 87 patients (63,0%) had a positive psycho-emotional reaction compared to 37,0% (n = 51) in whom the psycho-emotional state was negative. Conclusion. From the analysis of the obtained data, we can mention that the psychological impact of the surgery in the first 3 days it had a predominantly negative character on the patients (56,6% vs. 45,6%), compared with patients in the late postoperative period (63,0% vs. 38,2%). |
