Rezumat

The research presented in this paper contrasts nonverbal communication specific to men and
women. Consistent with oral communication, nonverbal communication describes men as acting more
territorially, and women as having a tendency to use smaller personal spatial areas. Men prefer more
expansion in their movements; women keep their gestures closer to their bodies. Women engage in
mutual touch, while men, in response to the rules of sexual harassment, rarely touch people nearby
than previous researches have indicated. Male paralanguage projects logical, cold, distant images of
men, while female paralanguage describes women as more emotional, warmer, and caring.
This paper describes image communication, clothing, reflecting the stereotypes of men and
women. Changes in nonverbal communication for both sexes confirm images of men and women less
correlated with gender norms. Most of the literature shows that women more accurately assess the
different emotional states of the others. Women also exhibit greater affiliation behavior, often making
them more accessible than men. Men exhibit more dominant behavior, even in their nonverbal
communication, making them seem less pleasant.
