The cradle of civilizations, the bone of contention and the oldest trade routes - all these are the “sea in the middle of the earth”, whose waves wash the shores of 22 states, most of which have managed to obtain direct tourist benefits from this remarkable corner. On the many shores of the Mediterranean Sea are located the most famous resorts in the world, which are targeted by millions of tourists from around the world who are rushing every year. The countries of the three continents - Africa and Eurasia, as well as numerous islands and archipelagos offer all the conditions for a complete holiday on the beach. In 2018, approximately 4.1 million tourists from around the world entered Israel - an all-time record. This is happening despite the security incidents, their widespread coverage in the media and foreign social networks, and boycott efforts. According to the World Tourism Organization, in the first half of 2017 there was a 9% increase in tourist arrivals in the Middle East and 8% in EU countries. In the first nine months of 2017, 2.5 million tourists entered Israel - 22% more than in the same period in 2016. The revenues of the world’s countries from international tourism are also growing, with an average growth of 7%. Five of the top ten countries with incoming tourism revenues come from the EU: Spain recorded the most significant increase, with an increase of 12% (in 2016 it recorded an increase of 7%); Followed by the United Kingdom, with 11% (only data from the first quarter); France with 8%; Germany and Italy recorded relatively low growth rates - 4% and 3%, respectively. Let’s not turn our hearts, saying that the Mediterranean Sea is one of those successful tourist destinations in all respects, able to offer to a demanding tourist almost everything, at once and at affordable prices. |
