The statistical data testify that the wind mills had a large spread in Moldova. These were the accessory of many villages, which where located on hills or peaks chain of hills. Have been noted two types of windmills: pole mills and mill cap. But most wind mills were in central and southern Moldova. Their number varied from one period to another depending on the use of multiple causes. Many of them have worked until the early phase of collectivization, gradually disappeared from the country's economic landscape. Today, windmills serve as historical exhibits.
