Medicinal plants are an integral part of traditional medicine since ancient era, until now. Polyphenols are the most explored natural compounds due to their potential health benefits and the identification of new naturally sources rich in polyphenols is one of the main research goals in the development of the pharmaceutical industry. In the process of identifying of pharmaceutical forms and new drugs of plant origin, phytochemical studies are essential, by detecting and dosing the chemical compounds with pharmacotherapeutic potential. Medicinal plants: Agrimonia eupatoria L., Cichorium intybus L., Cynara scolymus L, Hypericum perforatum L., Rubus frucicosus L. are species rich in polyphenols with various pharmacological beneficial effects and can serve as sources of vegetal products for the national pharmaceutical industry. |
