After the battle of Drăgșani in the summer of 1616, Samuel Korecki fell into Ottoman captivity. At the end of 1617, he escaped from the Ottoman prison Edi Kule. He had many debts due to the Moldovan campaign of 1615-1616. His wife, Ecaterina Movila, was a Tatar prisoner meanwhile and returned to Poland in late 1617. She made a will in which she passed all her fortune to Samuel Korecki. As she had nothing of her own to leave for the inherintance , the subject of the will was the parental estate Ustia for which great fights would start between Ieremia Movila’s sons-in-law. |
