Rezumat

The training of pupils who practice chess is an essential objective in obtaining good results in competitions, and in this regard, theoretical training must harmoniously combine with the development of their psychomotor skills. The teacher-coach must demonstrate a rigorous capacity for the selection of methods and means in physical education and sport, especially those specific to psychomotricity, since it requires the achievement of the proposed objectives for the effective training of students practicing chess. The research was carried out over a period of two months, on two samples of children aged between 8 and 10 years old, from Secondary School No.17 Botosani, representing the experimental group, 28 pupils (12 girls and 16 boys) and the control group, also 28 pupils (12 girls and 16 boys). Initial and final tests were carried out in both the test group and the control group using control tests. For the development of motor qualities, the means specific to speed, skill, endurance and strength were used: exercises for walking in the column, standing running, running with the knees up, running around the gymnastics bench, dynamic games (for speed), rope jumping, dynamic games, relays, accelerated running (for endurance), exercises for the development of the strength of the back, abdomen, arms and legs (for strength), as well as programs specific to psychomotricity.
