The present article is devoted to some of the specific features of old-believers' life in modern society illustrated by Saratov regional tradition. Old-believers community has always been characterized by isolation, reserve and maintenance of tradition as far as religion, behaviour and world-view are concerned. In this article we look closer at the main reasons for old-believers' confessional isolation as well as the protective mechanism of their culture which reveals itself in following the rule of „old piety" and old-believers' deliberate confessional isolation in modern society.
