This research elucidates the newest scientific studies on the migration flow from the Middle East to the most developed EU member states, which has registered recently a significant increase and includes debate on a crucial issue on the European legislation on migration and integration policies of migrants. The article contains the debates of some scholars concerning the origins of this migration, some of them considering it recently caused by the events of 11 September 2001, the changes of regime in Afghanistan and Iraq and „Arab spring”, while others argue that it began with the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. The paper approached several studies that migration is not just a natural phenomenon to leave the war areas and to move to more developed countries, but it follows the intentioned economic interest. The author considers that investigations have a contradictory character of the reason that the views of many experts, concerned about key aspects of migration from the Middle East to some EU countries, could be divided into four categories. They should start with an exaggerated, and unwarranted skepticism, the next category includes a moderate skepticism, the list continuing with some opened positions and with concrete proposals in order to solve the situation, ending with certain reserved attitudes, but substantiated with concrete case studies. Keywords: migration, crisis, immigrants, Middle East, European Union states, Turkey. |
