Rezumat

The approach to metacognition opens a path in education which is as sinuous as it is valuable. The ability to think about one's own thinking means to develop the courage to assert the individual in the transformational network of society and to guarantee its easy adaptation to the challenges and opportunities of the future.
The development of metacognitive competence in students will contribute to the universal affirmation of education, to the understanding and "mastery" of the multiple forms of present and future social existences and also to the essential self-affirmation of the human being. The "metacognitive miracle" will reveal the unsuspected abilities of the mind and will develop the emotion that values the specificity of the individual, an emotion that differentiates man from artificial intelligence.
