Rezumat

The writer, journalist and playwright Alexei Marinat makes his debute with the edition of his volume with sketches "The horizon is calling us" (1959), drawn up in the inertia of the tradition of the "new man"- builder of the communist society affirmation. The author's comments on the literary level, define, „volens-nolens”, a disarming truth: in order to start work again, the reprobation of the socialist realism dogma is necessary, the group realism. At least, this fact is easy to be noticed in Marinat's reflections in "not banned literature" in his private diaries, but in everything he publishes, the writer assumes himself the role of "the engineer of human souls". He makes his debut with the story "The stonemasons”, about which the author, much later, would remember with irony, because until then he had written diaries from the camp in Russian. The literary researcher launches the opinion that the writer’s real literary debut would be the political prisoner George Motruc’s life story, about whom Marinat, at a respectable age, in the book "The world and I," retells some stories from memory.
