The cement factory is located in the northern part of the Republic of Moldova approximately 100 km from the capital town Chisinau, 7 km from the town of Rezina. From a biogeographic point of view the site of quarry is placed at the contact of Central European, Eurasian and Mediterranean areas. The location is submitted from the forest-steppe and steppe regions with petrofite ecosystems and aquatic ecosystems (water bodies, rivers, wetlands). Terrestrial flora study confirms that herbaceous associations were formed from a wide range of species: plants of economic importance, petrofite species and hydrophytes, etc. The flora of the quarry is presented by 98 species of the jerboa’s vegetation, abuts and trees, but flora of the adjacent ecosystems is presented with 109 species. Dominant species of the quarry ecosystem are: Verbascum nigrum L., Knautia arvensis (L.)Coult., Grindelia squarrosa (Pursh) Dun., Erigeron annuus (L.) Pers., Melilotus officinalis (L.) Pall. |
