On March 25, 2017, the European community celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome (1957), the document that laid the foundation for the organization, which later became the European Union. European leaders and EU heads of state have shown their unity, solidarity and commitment to the European values and ideas, the attachment to the decade-old inte-gration model. These 27 member states of the EU signed in Rome a political statement on the future of the EU without the UK. Moreover, this statement has a symbolic significance: the event has proven to be a very important fact that EU has recovered from the crisis. EU leaders clearly draw their future and the direction in which we have to move on. In a rather chaotic flow of information on European affairs, it is sometimes very difficult to understand what is happening in reality between EU countries. Although the situation is quite dynamic, the authors have set the objective of identifying five major trends that make possible to understand the current situation and the future development of EU vectors. |
