Rezumat

Cyanobacterium Arthrospira platensis (spirulina) has a high ability to metabolize trace elements and can be used to obtain preparations containing bioelements embedded in biologically active compounds. In our studies, germanium selenide (GeSe2) was used in the growth of spirulina as a source of selenium and germanium. The optimal conditions (pH, time of introducing chemical compound into medium, temperature and duration of cultivation) have been established, which make it possible to obtain a biomass enriched simultaneously with selenium and germanium. Biomass with increased content of germanium and selenium was processed within a single technological flow to obtain germanium and selenium containing preparations. At the first technological stage, a complex of germanium and selenium containing free amino acids and oligopeptides were extracted from biomass of spirulina. The extracted complex was subjected to purification and standardization. The result of this technological segment – „Extract of germanium and seleniumcontaining free amino acids and oligopeptides”, which was the formulation of biologically active preparation enriched with germanium and selenium as an effective component part under the name „BioR-Germanium plus Selenium”. The biomass derived in the first technological stage was used to obtain germanium and selenium - containing protein extract. Therefore, a sodium hydroxide solution (0.45%) was added to the obtained biomass, the mixture was subjected to extraction and then centrifugation. Germanium and selenium containing protein extract was dialyzed to pH 7.0-8.5, where the protein exhibits optimal stability. Germanium and selenium - containing protein extract that was the end product of this step represented the formulation „Ge and Se - protein Supplement”. In conclusion, the use of germanium selenide (GeSe2) in the cultivation of cyanobacterium Arthrospira platensis (spirulina) made it possible to obtain, in a single integrated technology, biologically active raw materials containing significant amounts of both microelements that are part of polycomponent preparations with synergistic antioxidant, immunomodulatory and antitumor effects.
