Rezumat

The genus Salvia L. is one of the most important genera in the Labiatae family and includes over 900 species all over the world. In the Republic of Moldova, the genus Salvia L. is represented by 12 species. Salvia L. species are aromatic plants rich in essential oils which have been used in food, cosmetics, perfumes and pharmaceutical product. The specificity of the research consists in the creation and implementation of the varieties resistant to frost, winter, diseases, performances that ensure a high productivity and a high quality, thus diminishing the negative consequences of climate change. Salvia salarea L. varieties and cultivars of hybrid origin were used as biological material. Testing of these plants in comparison with the control cultures was conducted on the experimental field of the Institute of Genetics, Physiology and Plant Protection. Phonological evaluation, examination of quantitative characters, determination of the resistance to wintering, drought, producing capacity studies, statistical analysis were performed according to the testing methods used by the State Commission for Plant Variety Testing of the Republic of Moldova. The content of essential oil was determined three times per season through hydro distillation in Ginsberg apparatus and recalculated for dry matter. The variety Parfum Perfect is a triple hybrid with constant heterosis. The variety is resistant to cold, winter and disease. Parfum Perfect is distinguished by its high drought resistance. The plant are erect with quadrangular stem 143.2 cm height; inflorescence are 69.2cm length with 15.0 branches of degree I and 23.0 branches of degree II; large flowers, bilaby, upper violet light upper, lower-white, large bracts, colored in light purple pink. These characters favour the yield structure contribute to the synthesis and accumulation of large amounts of essential oil. The variety Parfum Perfect and ensure in 2 years of exploitation of the plantation 19,1t/ha of inflorescences, with containing 1.267 -1.424% (dry matter) of essential oil depending on the year of vegetation. The production of essential oil in two years of harvesting constitutes 73,5kg/ha (8.7 kg/ha in first year and 64.8 in second year). The variety's efficiency is 3,8kg essential oil of per ton of inflorescences.
