Rezumat

Purpose: Highlighting genomic medicine in the future. Methods: Research analysis and synthesis, comparative analysis, SWOT analysis. Results: Medical science is looking for new opportunities for increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of disease treatment and the return of patients in the state of Health. The concepts and technologies of molecular biology will change the current conception of illness and the argumentation of new genomic mechanisms. The genome can provide information based on DNA for complex disease, molecular indications for the diagnosis and prognosis of the disease, a guided therapy, the selection of targeted therapy, and the dose for treatment. Knowledge of molecular mechanisms by medicine specialists will contribute to increasing their ability to precisely treat based on genotype and molecular phenotypes of patients. Genomic medicine will lay the foundation for personalized precision medicine having "sick individual" and not "disease" in the foreground. Precision medicine is to allow physicians to predict quickly, efficiently, and precisely the most appropriate treatment program for a patient. To achieve this, clinicians will be provided with tools, technologies, and information compatible with their clinical workflow and used in the modern environment of treatment. Genetic information technologies will serve as a doctor's access to all patient information, including genetic data, which will facilitate the conclusions of diagnosis and treatment. Conclusions: Medicine of the Future is genomic medicine, precision one; it will focus on knowing the patient, which will use technical and genetic solutions based on individualized profile. Precision medicine will have a medical model at the base of which individual characteristics will be - genetic, molecular, instrumental, imaging profile, and concomitantly that of the genome, phenotype, and lifestyle of the patient.
