Street children represent a phenomenon which has exploded in the 90s of the last century.
This phenomenon has become very visible and it has gradually extended its dimensions in huge
proportions. A great deal has been written about such aspects as abuse, exploitation, especially
through forced commercial sex and violence in the streets.
The street subculture demands them to respect a certain stern set of rules, established by
the members of this group and certain behavioral models which do not correspond to the law and
the norm established by the society. These children are the ones who can increase the number of
the children spending the time in the street, of the children who do not attend school, of those
who can be sexually abused or undergo man –traffic , of the children involved in juvenile
delinquency.
