As we have shown before using ribonuclease protection assay, imunohistochemestry and electron microscopy that in patients with elevated levels of tryptophanhydroxilase-1, the first enzyme of serotonin synthesis, are present less serotonin and less estrogen receptors, determination of histological features of endometrial cancer specimens was mandatory. Conclusion: the indices of differentiation grade, number of nuclear layer of glandular tissue, nuclear polymorphisms, proliferative activity (number of mitosis), lymphocytes infiltration demonstrate that endometrial cancer specimens with elevated levels of tryptophanhydroxilase-1 are more differentiated and a lower growth potential. |
