Rezumat

We employ a rescaled version of the geometric measure of quantum discord, based on the Hilbert-Schmidt norm, to calculate it in the steady-state for a concrete system formed of a closely packed and laser-pumped pair of identical two-level qubits being initially uncorrelated and located in their ground states, respectively. Furthermore, the qubits are longitudinally coupled with a single-mode boson field, while both subsystems are damped via their corresponding environmental reservoirs. Although the employed metric is still noncontractive under quantum operations, it was shown previously in a series of physical examples that this measure of quantum correlations is in agreement with other discord measures.
