Background. Neonatal factors (gestational age, birth weight, oxygen therapy) that may lead to the development of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) have been studied. Objective of the study. Assessment of the risk of developing BPD in premature babies. Material and Method. Prospective and retrospective cohort study of 65 children hospitalized in the premature infant ward, born prematurely and with SDR supported neonatally, divided into 2 groups: basic – 44 children (67.7%: 95% CI 54.978.8 ), with DBP (according to international criteria) and 21 children (32.3%: 95% CI 21.2-45.1), without DBP. Information analyzed based on Microsoft Excel, Epi Info – 3.5 programs Results. The frequency of children in the study batch in groups was labeled (I - 9 children (20.5%: 95% CI 9.8-35.5), II - 13 children (29.5%: 95% CI 16.8 -45.2), III - 18 children (40.9%: 95% CI 26.3-56.8), IV - 4 children (9.1%: 95% CI 2.5-21.7), and in the control group (I - 4 children (19%: 95% CI 5.4-41.9), II - 6 children (28.6%: 95% CI 11.3-52.2), III - 7 children (33.3%: 95% CI 14.6-57), IV - 4 children (19%: 95% CI 5.4-41.9), respectively χ2 = 1.38, p> 0.05. According to the created groups there were also performed reckonings for the average of the gestational age, birth weight and the period of being under VAP. Conclusion. The study has found that the average gestational age, birth weight and barotrauma in VAP for premature babies are risk factors in achieving BPD. |
