Background. Organizational culture is one of the most important components that influence the activity and performance of medical institutions. Currently, they need a positive and strong organizational culture in order to survive in the market and provide high quality services. Objective of the study. To identify the similarities and differences in the manifestation of organizational culture in hospitals and family physician centers in the Republic of Moldova. Material and Methods. The type of study was primary, cross-sectional. Research methods used: bibliographic, statistical, and sociological. Information collection tool applied: questionnaire. Institutions included in the study: two family doctors' centers and two municipal hospitals from Chisinau. The total number of respondents was 172 employees. Results. The results of the study show statistical significant differences with reference to the predominant type of values promoted in medical institutions (p <0.05). Thus, the two most important values in the hospitals are: professionalism - 94.32 ± 4.33%, and responsibility - 89.2 ± 5.8%, and in the centers of family doctors: quality 84 ± 9.19% and patient orientation - 71 ± 11.39%. The basic norms observed in both types of institutions are ethics norms and functional obligations norms, and the two main beliefs of the employees are faith in God and in the truth. Conclusion. Organizational culture is a key element that distinguishes one medical institution from another. Also there are factors that determine the similarity of organizations. Analysis of organizational culture of institutions shows similarities and statistical significant differences of some culture components. |
