Background. The ethical component of vulnerability in medical activity is often related to the patient's autonomy. However, in the palliative act, the acceptance of vulnerability traces a wider spectrum of interpretations, being dependent on the physical, mental and social peculiarities of the palliative patient. Objective of the study. Analysis of vulnerable components in palliative patient medication. Material and Methods. The study includes a narrative synthesis of literature.Articles and research were selected through keywords in data bases such as:PubMed,BMJ,Elisever, where the complex manifestation of vulnerability in vulnerable patients is highlighted. At the same time, the work is structured by the method of analysis and comparative. Results. Several aspects of palliative patient vulnerability are highlighted: 1)communicative vulnerability, predominantly determined by the patient's pain and experiences, which are also essential elements of the somatic and spiritual picture; 2) decision vulnerability, arising in the context of the various ethical dilemmas of the terminal patient; 3) social vulnerability, family and professional relationships change with the progression of the disease; 4) institutional vulnerability, is characterized by dependence on the authority and interest of others. Conclusion. The moral values of the doctor and the sufferer's family determine the argumentative factor based on the tendency to diminish somatic and mental suffering. It is necessary an interdisciplinary approach to vulnerability in palliation, based on bioethical landmarks. |
