Background. COVID-19 infection is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus with high potential for spread and fatality. In the Republic of Moldova, in just three months, starting with March 7 this year, more than 7 thousand diseases were registered, more than 30% being registered in Chisinau. Objective of the study. Revealing the epidemiological features of the epidemic process of COVID-19 infection in Chisinau, according to the following indicators: gender, age, place of residence, form of the disease and mortality rate. Material and Methods. The epidemiological analysis was performed based on COVID19 data recorded in the register of cases of infectious diseases from the Public Health Center. In order to highlight the epidemiological peculiarities, the descriptive epidemiological method was applied with the statistical processing of the obtained data. Results. In Chisinau were detected 2039 cases, of which 1103 infected people are female (52.8%) and 936 male (47.2%). More affected were young people of 18-29 years - 320 cases (15.69%) and 30-59 years - 1115 cases (54.69%). Followed by people ≥ 60 years- 484 cases (23.74%) and children of 0-17 years- 120 cases (5.88%), Cases of illness were registered in the: Rascani- 486 (23.83% ), Botanica- 438 (21.48%), Buiucani- 418 (20.5%), Center- 333 (16.33%) and Ciocana- 364 (17.86%). People with mild form treated at home were- 486 (23.83%), deceased people - 79 cases. The lethality is 3.87%. Conclusion. Chisinau is a hotbed with most recorded cases in the Republic of Moldova. It was found that the most affected were women (52.8%), and the age at higher risk of infection - 30-59 years. Cases were registered in all area of Chisinau. The lethality is 3.87%. |
