Background. The emergence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus strains (MRS) is a current phenomenon in medicine. Septic-purulent infections caused by MRS strains are characterized by high resistance to multiple classes of antibiotics cause a significant negative impact on public health. Objective of the study. Determining the degree of spread of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus strains in medical institutions in Moldova. Material and Methods. Were analyzed antibioticograms of Staphylococcus strains isolated from patients with septic-purulent infections from two multi-profile medical institutions, maternity and rural hospitals. The sensitivity / resistance of Staphylococcus strains was determined by the classical method and by the automated VITEK 2 Compact system (bioMerieux). Results. Antibiotic resistance of Staphylococcus strains varied depending on the antibiotic group, the type of antibiotic and the hospital environment from which they were isolated. It was found that the ratio of MRS in the Republic of Moldova is 35,97% on average. The highest spread of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus is recorded in maternity – 61,81%, followed by multi-profile medical institutions – 36,32%, being slightly lower in rural hospitals – 22,36%. The isolated MRS strains proved to be multidrug-resistant strains, the polyresistance in the annual dynamics isincreasing. Conclusion. The level of spread of MRS strains in the Republic of Moldova is high and presents a major medical and public health problem. |
