Tendinţele constituţionalismului contemporan sunt caracterizate de direcţiile principale a dezvoltării sale ca un sistem juridico-politic a statului şi societăţii. Un interes deosebit îl prezintă cîteva tendinţe de bază, cum ar fi, tendinţa de politologizare a constituţionalismului, exprimată în influenţele metodelor şi mijloacelor politice la raporturile de drept constituţional. Constituţionalismul presupune ca în relaţiile reciproce dintre om, societatea civilă şi stat prioritatea măsurării umane a statului şi a dreptului, dezvoltarea societăţii civile, prin urmare, o semnificaţie importantă o are tendinţa socializării acestuia. Tendinţa de informatizare este una dintre cele mai noi direcţii în dezvoltarea constituţionalismului, or, societatea postindustrială are, cel puţin două metode de măsurare — societatea informativă (în interiorul ţării) şi globalismul (pe arena internaţională). O însemnătate majoră o are şi tendinţa internaţionalizării constituţionalismului, care se manifestă prin apropierea dreptului constituţional naţional cu dreptul public internaţional.

Tendencies of modern constitutionalism are characterized by the basic directions of its development as the complex political-legal system of the state and society. Some basic tendencies are of greatest interest: the tendency of politologization of the system of the constitutionalism, expressing in influence of political ways and means on constitutionally-legal relations, their regulation. Constitutionalism assumes in mutual relations between a person, a civil society and state priority of the human measurement of the state and the right, development of the civil society. Therefore the great value has the tendency of its socialization. The tendency of informatization is one of the „youngest“ directions in development of the system of constitutionalism. The tendency of internationalization of system of constitutionalism expressed, first of all, in rapprochement of the national constitutional law with the international public law has great value.
