Rezumat | |||||
Gilbert syndrome is common in all age groups, has a latent (without jaundice) evolution, often being missed. Acute and chronic infectious, parasitic and somatic diseases, various types of toxic stuff (mushrooms, alcohol etc.) and toxic for liver substances (drugs etc.) contribute to manifestation of Gilbert syndrome and its worsened evolution. In order to confirm Gilbert syndrome it is very important the presence of following features: jaundice has a familial spreading, chronic latent evolution with general wellbeing ( in case of aggravation it is possible occurrence of various neuro-psychological disturbances), normal liver size and liver function tests (except bilirubin). |
