This article examines the Gagauz terminology of kinship using the example of two groups of Gagauzians – Moldova and Bulgaria. Local and regional peculiarities characteristic of it are revealed. It is noted that the Turkish-Arab-Persian component among the Gagauz people of Bulgaria is more represented than among the Gagauzians of Moldova. A regional feature of the Gagauz people in Bulgaria is the use of a number of terms of Greek origin, while the Gagauz people of Moldova use Moldovan terms. The data on the terminology of kinship demonstrate the process of interethnic interaction of the Gagauz with the peoples living in the neighborhood. |
