The paper aims to explain several dimensions of migration processes and discusses ways of understanding the phenomenon of migration in context of modernlization of Republic of Moldova. The paper considers the involvement of modern Moldova in the current migration processes. The specifics and problems of migration in country have been analyzed. The author has studied positive and negative effects of migration on the economy and social-political life in Moldova, shows some problems of moldovan migrants. The migration phenomenon is fluctuating by the context, influencing the economic, political, social and demographic situations. It is remarquable a growing diversification of migration. The new aspects of immigrants’ integration abroad are identified and characterized. The work focuses on elucidating the phenomena of second generations of migrants and analyses the becoming of ethnic entrepreneurship. The author considers a number of economic factors that substantially accompany the process of immigrants’ integration into the new for them society. Migration and its connection to entrepreneurial activity is considered as a positive process that leads to local economy improvement and immigrants’ adaptation. The paper presents an overview of the main quantitative and qualitative characteristics of international migration in the Moldovan economy. Special attention is paid to the dynamics of the migration flows and its consequences. On the basis of the analysis of the international migration processes, the author has formulated insights about contemporary trends and directions of migration of the population. Theoretical ideas are supported by the evidence with global and local examples.
