An analysis of the formation of the productive types of Simmental cattle in the western region of Ukraine. On the basis of the distribution of exterior indicators held productive cows on three types: milk, meat and dairy and meat and milk. In animals, these groups have studied their performance evaluation on the exterior, live weight, milk production, udder characteristics and reproductive capacity. The differences on the main types of productive exterier-productive and reproductive performance, body weight, it is appropriate to take into account in the further breeding work with the Simmental in a western region of Ukraine.
