Rezumat | ||||||
The selection of the treatment method in single tooth edentulism must be made on the basis of a risk profile specific to the situation of each patient. Implantprosthetic treatment is much more cost-effective in patients with single missing tooth in the following conditions: absence of any pathology, mass of bonny tissue receiving implants, sufficient width of the alveolar ridge, absence of severe soft tissue recession, adjacent teeth intact and healthy or minimally restored, unable to support conventional fixed partial dentures, aesthetic demands that cannot be achieved with conventional restorative approaches. Conventional fixed partial denture is the treatment of choice in cases of systemic disease or poor bone supply that make patients ineligible for surgery, one or more adjacent teeth treated endodontically or require significant restorations. |
