Rezumat

The article presents an analysis of social cohesion and social capital based on mixed research, mainly on qualitative sources and methodology in the context of the COVID-19. The research reveals a series of tendencies regarding some basic elements of the social cohesion and social capital in the society of the Republic of Moldova: trust in state governing institutions; forms of social support and solidarity manifested by citizens; level of cohesion perceived by complying with prevailing social norms, attitudes and perception towards a group at risk of exclusion (returned migrants). The article authors share the point of view of respondents according to whom the pandemic COVID-19 gives the leaders of civil society and governing elites an opportunity to learn of this crisis positive strategies of adaptation by improving the forms of social cohesion for the benefit of all citizens.
