The aim of the present study was to assess the effect of age on the dynamic of the change of the body measurements of ewes. The study was carried out with 84 ewes from Ile de France breed at the age of 9 and 18 months, 2.5 and 3.5 years. The live weight was measured with accuracy 0.1 kg. 3360 body measurements were made as follows: wither height, rump height, chest depth, chest width, body diagonal measurement, flank eminences width, chest circumference, semi range haunches and head length and canon circumference. The calculated indexes of body constitution included: long-legged, expanded, massiveness, conciseness, chest, pelvis-chest, bones development, head size, muscularity. The data was evaluated by the methods of variation statistic, using EXCEL (2003). The age of ewes effected significantly the variation of live weight and body measurements (P<0.001). The indexes of body constitution showed normal development of ewes with age typical for meat type sheep (P<0.05; P<0.01, P<0.001).
