When we say Chișinău we mean the first railway station, the first tram rail with first boulevards, theatre, universities, cinemas, restaurants, factories and even first high schools. We refer to theoretical High School „Vasile Alecsandri” ‒ the first institution named as a classic high school, organized by Municipal Council’ s decision on May 28th, in 1990. It is the institution that wroth the history of Bessarabian intellectuals and gathered children from all over Moldova. The high school had classical organiza tion, the best teachers in the republic, including University teachers and Romanian professors. The institution was the expression of liberty and renaissance dressed up by the municipality at the edges of the centuries. The urban coat of arms is carried with great dignity and pride by those who call themselves as „Alecsandriști” and by those over 6000 graduated owners of BAC diplomas. It is the high school with Diploma no. 001 in the Republic and remained till now true to this formula.
