The study investigates aspects of legislative achievement in the territory between the Prut and Nistru Rivers (Bessarabia). Taking into account the change of the legal status of the territory between the Prut and Nistru Rivers several times over the course of history, the roots of local legislative achievement must be sought in two systems of law: Romanian and Russian law. Starting from these findings, the first part investigates the process of legislative achievement in the Principality of Moldova, part of which Bessarabia was until 1812. The second part of the study is devoted to the state of legislative achievement after the annexation of Bessarabia by the Russian Empire, inclusively throughout the nineteenth century. The study has conclusions and recommendations. |
