The internationalisation of higher education institutions remains one of main issues of their strategies and has a big impact on educational process. There are different approaches to the internationalisation of higher education, that are discussed in the present paper. The pandemic situation, caused by COVID-19 influenced all area of educational process, internationalisation is not an exception. Several studies, done by UE organisations will be analysed in order to show the impact and the future preoccupation in the field of internationalisation. The authors will present a study case based on Technical University of Moldova’s experience in the field of internationalisation, made within the Erasmus+ project: Elevate, as well the future vision on internationalisation process in higher education.
