The article analyzes the conceptual delimitation of the notions of circular economy, green economy and sustainable development, promoting a systemic perspective of the circular economy, identifying the necessary steps to capitalize on this concept, highlighting synergistic aspects in relation to the green economy. It highlights the efficient use of resources as a principle of the circular economy, which can be applicable to any sector of activity. Cluster policy development - as a strategic component of industrial policy to support synergies and innovations in the circular economy. From this point of view, this study offers new research opportunities in the area of environmental policy, by ensuring the existing correlations with other sectors, respectively the transition to the green economy, including in the Republic of Moldova.
