Acest articol este axat pe evoluţia arhitecturală a orașelor antice elene din regiunea nord-pontică, care s-au constituit în secolele XII-VI î.Hr. De asemenea, se urmărește dezvoltarea arhitecturii acestor orașe până în prezent. Până la începutul secolului al VI-lea î.Hr., zona est-mediteraneană, sudul Peninsulei Apenine și Sicilia, precum şi ţărmul de sud al Mării Negre au fost stăpânite de eleni. Imigranții din orașele greceşti au început colonizarea teritoriilor din nordul Pontului Euxin – o regiune situată de-a lungul țărmului nordic al Mării Negre, ce se întinde de la Capul Kaliakra (Bulgaria) până la ieșirea din munţii Caucazului Mare în raionul actualului oraş Poti (Georgia). În prima jumătate a secolului al VI-lea î.Hr. în regiunea nord-pontică au fost întemeiate următoarele orașe: Olbia – la gura estuarului Bug-Nipru, Panticapaeum – în zona strâmtorii Bospor (strâmtoarea Kerci actuală), Mirmeky la 5 km nord de Panticapaeum, Theodosius și Nymphaeum în Crimeea de Est, iar pe Peninsula Taman – Kepy și Sind Harbor. Articolul examinează întemeierea acestor oraşe şi modelele lor de dezvoltare, precum şi realizările lor arhitecturale şi constructive.

The article exposes the architecture development in the ancient Hellenic cities from the 12th to the 6th centuries BC. Also, the research traces the ancient cities’ architectural processes up to nowadays. There are Eastern Mediterranean, the South of the Apennine Peninsula, Sicily and the southern coast of the Black Sea that have been inhabited by the beginning of the 6th century BC. The immigrants from the Greek cities of the Eastern Mediterranean started the Northern Black Sea coast being inhabited. It is a region along the northern shore of the Black Sea, free by then, stretching from Cape Kaliakra (Bulgaria) to the outflow of the Great Caucasus Mountains in the current Georgian city Poti. Emerged in the first half of the 6th century BC, the following cities feature the Northern Black Sea region like Olbia – at the mouth of the Bug-Dniester estuary, Panticapaeum – in the Bospor Strait (modern Kerch Strait), Mirmeky 5 km north of Panticapaeum, Theodosius and Nymphaeum in Eastern Crimea, Kepy and Sind Harbor on the Taman Peninsula. The article discusses their foundation and patterns of development, their architectural and construction achievements. There is an uneven range of discovered evidence through all the Ancient cities, due to archaeology though.
