| Rezumat | ||||||
The aim of this paper is to analyze the role and the main benefits of financial inclusion for economic development and to identify policy directions to enhance it. To achieve this goal, there are used both qualitative and quantitative research methods. The paper highlights the main factors that determine the exclusion of population from the financial system and presents recent worldwide trends regarding financial penetration. It identifies the main empirical results in the field that show the benefits of financial inclusion. The analysis concludes that although the role of global financial inclusion is recognized, its level is still insufficient and it should be addressed by different policy actions. |
