The article is devoted to the development of the theory of state and law at St. Volodymyr's University in Kyiv in the XIX – early XX century. The issue is revealed in the context of the development of this science in leading European countries. It is shown how a legal encyclopedia was first created, which began to play the role of an introduction to the study of all other legal disciplines in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. It is reflected its development in the Russian Empire in the early nineteenth century, in particular at the University of St. Vladimir in Kiev. Was shown The contribution of Kyiv University scientists to the development of the problems of the theory of state and law. Was placed Emphasis on the scientific work of Professor K.O. Nevolina "Encyclopedia of Law" (1840), which for a long time was the only fundamental scientific work on this issue in the world in the middle of the XIX century. Were analyzed the development of the theory of state and law in the second half of the XIX century on the example of the scientific work of Professor of the University of Kiev M.K. Rennenkampf': "Essays on the Legal Encyclopedia" (1868), which students studied until the early twentieth century.

Articolul este dedicat dezvoltării teoriei statului şi dreptului la Universitatea Sf. Vladimir din oraşul Kiev, în secolul XIX – începutul secolului XX. Acest aspect este dezvăluit în contextul dezvoltării acestei științe în principalele țări europene. Se arătă cum la început a fost creată enciclopedia juridică, care a început să joace rolul de introducere în studiul tuturor celorlalte discipline juridice în secolele XVII – XVIII. Este ilustrată dezvoltarea sa în Imperiul Rus la începutul secolului al XIX, îndeosebi la Universitatea Sf. Vladimir din oraşul Kiev. Este oglindită contribuția oamenilor de știință de la Universitatea din Kiev la dezvoltarea chestiunilor (problemelor) teoriei statului și dreptului. Se pune accentul pe lucrarea științifică „Enciclopedia juridică” (1840) a profesorului Universităţii din Kiev d-nul K.O. Nevolin, care a fost timp îndelungat singura lucrare științifică fundamentală din lume despre acest subiect la mijlocul secolului XIX. A fost analizată dezvoltarea teoriei statului și dreptului în a doua jumătate a secolului XIX, pe exemplul lucrării științifice „Eseuri despre enciclopedia juridică” (1868) a profesorului Universității din Kiev M.K. Rennenkampff, pe care studenții au studiat-o tocmaiu până la începutul secolului XX.
