Rezumat

The evacuation of the insufficiently treated and nutrient-rich wastewater risks triggering the eutrophication of the receiving water bodies, which would lead to an undesirable disturbance of the balance of the organisms present in the water and to a degradation of the water quality. Nutrient-sensitive areas in the Northern Development Region were identified and delimited. They include sections of rivers in which wastewater is discharged from agglomerations in the region with a population bigger than 10,000 l.e. The modernization of the stations and the increase of the treatment plant would be the way to improve the situation.
