Rezumat

The article presents characteristics of psychosocial adaptation and emotional intelligence in adolescence. Certainly, the new global realities and the current educational demands promoted in society influence the adaptation, the psychosocial adaptability of the adolescent's personality. It is generally considered that effective psychosocial adaptability is conditioned by multiple psychological phenomena, among which is emotional intelligence that reflects the ability to evaluate and appreciate the emotions in oneself and others, to control one's own emotions and those of others and to use emotions in problem solving. In this context, many authors believe that the emotional plane is involved in social adaptation. Thus, the results obtained in the research on the relationships between the mentioned psychological phenomena can be valorized in order to identify effective ways to optimize them at the age of adolescence.
