Rezumat

This article examines an important issue in language education, namely, developing the EFL learners’ skill of inquiry. Having acquired this skill, learners will be able to call into question almost any type of media text in a critical way, thus – consuming and producing independently reliable media messages. This research is based on an analysis of the tasks provided in the textbook “English for Life” for the eighth form.
