Being an important exponent of the generation of decorative artists in the second half of the twentieth century, Filip Nutovici left an indisputable mark in the history of decorative arts of the Republic of Moldova. Practicing over the decades the art of wood carving, the art of ceramics, the art of artistic glass and various genres of monumental arts such as mosaic, stained-glass windows and decorative ambient-spatial plastic art, the painter created memorable works characterized by valuable aesthetic and semantic features. Evolving consistently during the three stages of creation, Filip Nutovici’s work eloquently elucidates the original and efficient solution of important plastic problems of that time. These include the implementation of folk traditions and the use of artistic landmarks of international industrial design in the art of ceramics; the unique plastic implementation through the shape and decoration of translucent, chromatic and opaque expressions in glass works; the organic insertion of decorative and monumental artworks in the urban architectural ambiance.
