Rezumat

Bibliographic sources, filmographies and spectacles of the world demonstrate the frequency of biographical literature, memoirs, shows and films, dedicated to exponential personalities from the most diverse fields of life. All filmographies contain numerous documentary and fiction films dedicated to notorious personalities. At the “Moldova-film” studio, the gallery of historical-biographical films was inaugurated in 1961 with the film The Legendary Army Commander – a eulogy dedicated to Grigorii Kotovski. Then followed three films about some militants of the illegal communist movement in Bessarabia and Romania: The Pedestal about Pavel Tkacenko, The File of Elena Sârbu and The Party Courier, dedicated to Tamara Kruciok. All these works are designed in a raised tone and free of praise. In the context of the time, the historical-biographical films Iona Iakir and the First Order Army Commander were of interest. If we make a certain abstraction from the ideology, sometimes excessive, of these films, we can appreciate their cognitive, historical functions and that of preserving the image of the living witnesses, of cinematic chronicles with important events in the destiny of our civilization.
